A Fable in Two Languages
In a distant forest lived a clever red fox named Ahuo. He liked to speak two languages — one was the common "animal language," and the other was a human language he had secretly learned. Every morning, he would stand on the highest tree and practice his pronunciation with the sun.
One day, a white deer from afar arrived. She couldn’t speak the animal language or human words. She could only make deep sounds, and no one understood what she was saying. Ahuo saw this and decided to help her.
"Hello," Ahuo said in human language. "Where are you from?"
The deer looked at him in surprise. "Can you understand me?" she asked.
"I’ve learned human language," Ahuo smiled. "I can help you communicate with others."
From that day on, Ahuo became the translator of the forest. He taught animals simple English words during the day and taught the deer the animal language at night. Slowly, the animals began to understand each other, and different groups that had once been strangers became friendly.
One day, a hungry wolf entered the village, and the villagers were terrified. Ahuo ran over and said in human language, "You can’t hurt them, they are our friends." The wolf paused, looked at Ahuo, and finally left quietly.
This incident made all the animals realize: language is not just a tool for communication, but also a bridge for understanding and peace.
From then on, there were no more quarrels or misunderstandings in the forest. Everyone used different languages to express love and respect. And Ahuo became the most popular "bilingual ambassador" in the forest.
