In ancient times, there was a young man named Li Bai who was gifted but frivolous in his youth. One day, while traveling in the mountains, he saw an old woman sitting by the stream, diligently grinding a thick iron rod into a needle.
"Grandma," Li Bai asked curiously, "why are you trying to turn such a hard iron rod into a needle? Isn't this a waste of effort?"
The old woman smiled and replied, "As long as one works hard enough, an iron rod can surely be ground into a needle."
After hearing these words, Li Bai was deeply moved and realized that learning requires perseverance rather than impatience. From then on, he devoted himself to studying and eventually became a renowned poet of the Tang Dynasty, leaving behind many timeless poems for posterity.
